📋 1. Overview

PPQA Snag Logger ("the App") is a professional construction quality assurance tool designed for project inspection teams. It enables site inspectors and quality managers to log, track, and resolve construction defects (snags) on their assigned projects.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

📦 2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the App:

We do not collect precise GPS location coordinates, device contacts, call logs, SMS, or any payment/financial information.

⚙️ 3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide and improve the App's functionality:

• Authenticate you and assign you to your organisation's project(s)
• Enable you to log, view, update, and resolve construction snags
• Generate quality assurance reports for your project team
• Allow project managers to export snag data via the web admin portal
• Send in-app notifications about snag status changes (future feature)
• Diagnose technical issues and crashes to improve app stability

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

🔒 4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore Database and Cloud Storage), which is hosted on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure with enterprise-grade security including:

• Data encrypted at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+)
• Access controlled by Firestore Security Rules — users can only read/write data belonging to their assigned project
• Admin-only operations enforced server-side via Firebase Auth custom claims
• Media files stored in private Firebase Storage buckets, accessible only to authorised team members

🤝 5. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Within your organisation: All members assigned to a project can view that project's snag data. Admins have access to all projects.
• Google Firebase / Google Cloud: Our infrastructure provider. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and standard data processing agreements.
• Google Sheets (optional export): If your admin exports snag data to Google Sheets, that data is written to a Sheet owned and controlled by your organisation.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users.

No data is shared with any advertising networks, analytics brokers, or data aggregators.

📅 6. Data Retention

Snag records, media files, and project data are retained for as long as your organisation's account remains active. When an organisation's account is closed, data is deleted within 90 days unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Individual user accounts can be deactivated by an administrator at any time. Upon deactivation, the user's login access is revoked. Snag records created by that user remain in the project database for audit purposes unless explicitly deleted by an admin.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations
• Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
